For almost two decades SCO has supported the Grandparents Raising Grandchildren™ Trust NZ (GRG) and the incredibly important work that they do. On 4 November 2025, we were honoured to be guest speakers at the National Volunteers Wānanga, which bought together the Support Group Coordinators from across the country for the first time since 2018.
GRG is more than a registered charitable trust operating throughout New Zealand, it is a dedicated team of people from all walks of life, many of whom are volunteers, who support grandparents who are raising their grandchildren full-time—often due to unexpected and traumatic circumstances. These grandparents know that the unexpected can happen any time and we talked about how to plan and prepare for the future. We are grateful for the opportunity to contribute to this vital conversation and to stand alongside GRG in their mission of empowering grandparents and strengthening whānau across Aotearoa.
